Ministries
First UMC has alot of Ministries for you to choose from. We invite you to take a look and try some of the various groups to get involved with. Along with the ministries listed individually, we also offer Disciple classes from September-May and various short Bible study groups. Be on the look out for new and exciting studies to be put into place!
The Stitches Group-This group does mission work for local nursing homes by making lap robes, pillows, bibs and walker bags for patients. They meet Tuesdays at 10:00 am from September through til usually the end of April. Knowledge of sewing not a requirement.
Thrift Store-Our thrift store concentrates on reaching the community through the sales of used good clothing, small appliances, books, jewelry and any small household items that are in good condition. Donations are always accepted anytime during the hours of operation which are Tuesdays-Saturdays from 10:30 to 3:30 pm.
Children Ministries-We offer Sacred Dance and Childrens Choir on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 6:15 pm. Children Kindergarten on up are taught interpretive dance to music as well as the basics in music through instruction. We also have Sunday School classes for K-5th, 6-12th with structured curriculem as well as providing Nursery care for infants through 2 and a toddler room for 2-5 with fun-filled activities as well as introduction to the Bible in age appropriate lessons.
